RESPECT  is making certain another Pow Wow is not being done in your area before setting a date or dates for your event. This is disrespectful to the families and also to the Ancestors who fought long and hard to keep some of our freedoms alive. We suggest making a thorough check before setting a date for an event. Some have taken it upon themselves to place new Pow Wow's on the dates of those that have been established for one year or many years. Usually a 100 mile radius is suggested by many Elders. It does not help our struggle nor does it have honor to do such. If you see a pow wow starting up speak to the committee about it, If they refuse to listen then the other alternative is to simply not attend.  You have a choice to honor the ancestors or not.
Posting  on this page does not necessarily mean we endorse all pow wows it is up to the people to decide.
